I'm still rolling at the cows butt! I used my big toe, "butt" couldn't stretch far enough to get into my mouth, but he wasn't looking so I got a way with it, In a brief reply of the politics during the Morgan and Peace dollar years...Its was simply due to the economy...They were afraid that people would hold the precious metals while the PRINTED dollar represented actual precious metals held in banks to back these notes. Now this is nothing concerning vams, however it does relate to why some years few exist and why some years have SO MANY high grade examples out there as Zee has shown...after 1904. No silver dollars were produced,,then in 1921 44 million....to get silver back into the economy.... then again...After 1935 no more silver dollars....the Gov't did not want the raw wealth in peoples hands while they were in a depression...Almost makes you think of todays economy....except there is nothing circulated to effect however much they print.. after all it does say...DEBT It declares no other promise... |

Oh, I was wondering what in the world you were talking about with the cow. I thought maybe it had something to do with Cuds. I had to go back myself to catch up with you. I got it now. Is there anything particular that you may wish to argue or talk about? Any burning issues? |

I don't know about you guys, but I am getting pretty sick of these monster threads. Maybe we could start a new one or pick up on a shorter one. I don't really know if it is my fault or what, that these things drift all over the place like this. I don't even remember what this one was originally about other than the forum was pretty dead for an extended period, and I really wanted to liven it up a bit.

I would love to Gene, but I don't know enough about anything to start one. I have to be stimulated by the words or pictures of others before I can get feisty enough to even think. Normally, my mind is just a blank, in a dormant state waiting for something to wake me up.
