Yes,It can be habit forming. Just don't let the habit become an obsession.[:0] No harm in owning and admiring a little of everything. Variety is the spice of life.

Welcome to the world of the darkside!!! It must be a pay back for all the money we have sent to Australia in the past few years!!! If you see it, if you like it, then buy it!!! To hold the history of the world in your hand and to wonder what that coin has been through to get to you....well it takes a lot of imagination but its worth every cent!!!

You are not alone I am not focused on any particular type of coins. I have and still buy a little bit of everything.

Dont Tempt me!!!!! I keep feeling bad when I stray out of my area of (limited) expertise. I know I've bought some things over-priced, but to be honest I dont mind. Holding a bit of history in your hand is well worth the extra expense. Even my lovely wife is starting to get bitten by the bug. She was peering over my shoulder last night while I was looking at some images of 'piece of 8'. Her reaction? "Wow, they look neat, why dont you get one of those?" I love her dearly and clearly there's no hope for either of us. :D Mark

That is the very reason we now own the $800 Buffalo gold coin in proof condition. We were in the coin store, and my wife was allowed to look at the coin. We made it about to the city limits as we headed home when she said, "That was a beautiful coin. I think we should buy it." So, now we have one.
And, it is beautiful.
mnemtsas, It was a pleasure trading with you recently. Let me know if there is anything else I can find for you.

Hi Gary, Was a pleasure trading with you too. I definitely want some more State Quarters, but I need to get myself in order before I ask for more. Mark

I just buy whatever I like at a particular point in time. I am spending money on money. Easiest way to justify a purchase.

Lucky for me I have seen most every coin available at least on photo Sometimes I make minicollections solely based on free association One of my better ones has a latter day proof Napoleon next to a proof Marie Jeanne from Haiti with a cutlass in hand ready to lop HIS head off
