That is a very beautiful coin, I know very little about this type but I would grade it at AU-58. The letters on the neck are JBL the designer of the coin.

Beautiful coin! Looks like it could be an MS64 or possibly even a 65. $20 Liberty's get very pricey (even common dates) at the MS65 level and this coin appears close at a 65.
I would have your coin graded by a major service like PCGS or NGC in the near future!

AU 58. It's extremely clean for a jewelry piece, no dirt or toning or anything. It looks perfectly preserved. If it was completely untouched, I would venture to weak 65. Really clean fields and the cheek marks look minor enough in these shots.
Does the edge or rim have any markings from the clasps?

Wow! And I'm not really a fan of gold coins or Longacer designs.

A very beautiful coin.
I would have to go AU 55/58
I am seeing slight or a trace of wear wear on lower cheek/mid neck/lower neck, of Liberty.

Quote: Does the edge or rim have any markings from the clasps? Other than some small marks on the rims (which are visible in the pictures), I don't see any evidence of the marks left by the clasps. I'm not even sure if those marks were caused by the clasps. The reeded edge is in great shape. Quote:

I hope you get a 64. Here's a PCGS MS64 of mine. Yours compares very favorably.

My first guess was 65. Make sure to update us when PCGS gets a grade on it!

Sure doesn't look like a jewelery piece. Probably AU-58, but PCGS may MS-64 it.

After seeing bherring1964's slabbed MS-64 ... I am leaning to agree with him. What I was seeing on this coin is the same I see on his. Just a slight rub in cheek and neck area.

Very nice coin! I think what is throwing me off a bit(and maybe others too), is it's hard to tell from those pictures how much luster is retained on Liberty's face/hair. The fields are fully lustrous, so it is a 58 minimum imo...but I cant tell how much luster is on the face. If there is luster I'm not seeing, it could easily be 64-65; so maybe some more pics would help.
From bherring's picture, it is easier to tell that the devices are lustrous.
