NGC gave it an MS62.....I was surprised too.

I would have to say that in my opinion this coin would grade a solid MS63
|

I believe it was the dark toning on the obverse that kept it from a 63.

Haha, I sold this to him as a choice AU awhile ago. Thought it was slightly wiped on the obv because of the color. That's what my dealer said anyway. Good result, Jake.

my first impression was MS62 but the reverse looks 64...the detail is exceptional, and as far as the toning goes for something this old I don't think they should have discounted it, I would have thought MS63 but the first photo is out of focus...A very nice coin at an AU price....

The probably dinged it a bit for a weakly struck obverse. Very nice coin I would give it an MS-63

I read the grade above already but was honestly thinking MS-64. I think it is undergraded some!
