Bob's book is pretty much THE definitive book for everything collectible about the St. Louis fair.

Unfortunately, I do not have a copy as it is out of print and a bit pricey. I do know a couple people who are very knowledgable in regards to the value of numismatic items from the Fair and at least one of them knew Hendershott personally when he was alive.

It's hard to see (and photograph) but what looks like toning between the letters is actually shadows. They are very reflective. The candy cane in the foreground here is about 4 inches away:

By the way, I noticed these are all coin alignment.

Thanks for all the info so far That book sounds great - and a nice write up on him here: http://www.coinbooks.org/esylum_v08n14a19.html

Sharp looking edifices! Too bad they didn't think of putting Edward VII on the obverse; but then I'd have to have them!

I should try to include candy canes in my photo setup, that should improve the quality of my pics!

That's right!

By the way, I'd love to see your Newfie bank tokens, if you have pictures!

True, but candy canes aren't as tough on the teeth!

I don't have any pics of the tokens. When I get them from storage I will get some pics, but it wont be until after the move.

Yes, they are perfect. I will print them out this weekend and show them to my guy on Monday night at the bid board auction.

Ok, the set is worth $100-150 depending on condition. My source informed my that the Hendershott set sold at his sale for $200 a few years ago, it looked like it had been purchased at the Fair the previous day- absolute perfection
