Good... I saved this bit of trivia (just in case there was any scoffing about the possibility of the O over D mm)..... I think that I might have read somewhere that in the late 1890s, the Philly mint prepared a few 1921 style reverse die prototypes for the Denver mint, and the train between Philly and Denver was robbed, and the dies fell into the hands of the New Orleans mint..... the rest is history and is evidenced by your coin.... I think that you should send it to LVA along with the story, (you will impress him with your historical knowledge).

edited to add:

(Then again, I could be wrong about all of that stuff.... maybe I just dreamed it)..

''Maybe it is something new.... 1900 obverse paired with a 1921 D reverse.... 1900 RPM (O over D)...''?

'I Believe With the Laws Of Relativity and Polarity ... That Stuff Could Haappen!'?

Sorry to say, but I doubt that it could or would have ever happened. By the time the Denver mint opened the New Orleans mint was already closed for several years, so when you think about it, it is virtually impossible. sorry, no O over D varieties.

LVA might add it for the horned O feature.

oh, and nice coin twohawks.

Let me re-phrase that,

When it came to 1921 the New Orleans mint was already closed for several years.

Yes VAM Addict, twohawks and I were just joking around with the O over D thing.... I figure that I better clear that up before anyone else takes it seriously.

Nope Leroy is finishing the 2010 update and asked not to have coins sent in for a few weeks. I have to run down that way 4 or 5 times in the next 3 weeks. I e-mailed him and plan on stopping in to drop them off in person.

Be sure to tell him that O over D jazz is not real, and not to submit it based on that alone.
