I have not finished all of my other sets yet. Been knocking them out, but not fast enough. That darn requirement of disposable income gets in the way.

jbuck, see about grabbing an extra one of those things you call a raise. It has a vaguely familiar ring to it. LOL

Didn't know ECC was in trouble, they have gotten plenty of my money, to the tune of many thousands. But they are always very friendly and very helpful. I did notice they weren't at the Foley show.

Shootnstar .. This thread started over 2 years ago .. and seems to pop back up every once in a while. I had to read back and see what you were referring to.

The coin shop I mentioned did go out of business. ECC is doing fine and thinking of opening a third location. There are several shops in driving distance to Pensacola, I think ECC is the best ones, and have the best prices. There is a coin shop in Pace, that I heard last week was trying to buy silver dimes and .75 each ... so not all in the area are good

I have been giving a lot of thought to joining the local coin club .... did you join?

This set is still one of my favorites, it really got me into Morgan dollars. I think I have bought at least 50 more Morgan's since I finished this album.

I haven't joined the club yet but I plan to next meeting. Just what I need another club.

A Morgan was my first coin so I can relate to it being a favorite. They're my favorite coin too although I would never attempt to build a set like yours.

I try to stop in ECC once a week, but since nothing is priced I hate constantly bugging them about how much is this or that. They're always so busy, even when I'm the only customer.

I'd also like to check out the new shop in north SR county, I've talked with them on the phone several times and they're always helpful.

Get any rain at your place this weekend?

If your talking about the shop in Jay, I have not been there, but I have met the guy at the ECC Milton store.

I would suggest taking a list of the coins your looking for to the coin shop. On the list look up the grade you are hoping to get, and a price range. You can get prices from your RedBook or online sites like numismedia.com

It hard to tell someone how to develop a good relationship and a coin shop. For me it is a give and take type of situation. Try to be friendly but professional. I try to buy something when ever I go into a coin shop, they will learn that you are a serious customer.

I am talking about coin shops in general .. but if you have bought thousands of dollars from ECC .. they must know you.

Seems like it rained all day yesterday ... today I spent all day at the casino in Atmore .. so not sure what rain we got here.

Not sure if this fits into the topic completely but I took a blank silver dollar book and put a full set of Peace dollars in the front then started a Morgan date/mintmark set in the back. I need 6 dates and one mintmark to finish. I like it because it's heavy and I know its all silver.

Yep, I've dumped mucho dollaro in the shop but seems there's always different employees working. My last purchase there was 101 ASEs of which I had to wait nearly a month to get them all, bought them out. I paid for them all in advance to lock in the price.

As for the pricing thing, I really don't know what I want. I'm still too new to this to have decided my niche. I am currently building modern silver proof sets of dimes, quarters, halves and Ikes. Also still have holes in my NGC MS69 ASE set.

Hope you can make the Sept PNS meeting, I plan on joining then. And BTW, my wife is Creek Indian, thanks for supporting the casino and her yearly bonus check :-).

Okay. You are probably better at holding your breath than I am anyway.

I may have to try this set as it is really the most inexpensive to have some kind of complete set of Morgan dollars. I will not be doing this soon as I have put another of my evil plans into action... Washington quarters. I then have a few sets I have started so I will have to do this set another time. I looked at where I was at with the set money-wise and I just about threw up! I need like, $60-70 just to get all the clad ones and silver proofs. Man, I did not know Washingtons could be this expensive. I'm not even talking about the silver ones!

I am not complaining.

I still have this set on my to-do list. But I promised I would finish my LHC, 7070, and Indian/Buffalo/Mercury albums first.

I saw a Washington album at my coin shop today with all the coins from 65-98 filled in for $40 with the Dansco that would be tempting as then your just working on the silver and you already got the album.

My goal is to finish my 7070 and I just started the Franklin half set. This set, a walking liberty short set, a silver eagle set, a complete ike with varieties and Buffalo nickel set are on my to do list. One set at a time

Now you guys have me wanting to do a Washington album! The voice inside my head keeps telling me how many I could get by just CRH then I could simply upgrade. Arg!

A Washington album is a must have, in my opinion.

As for the original topic, that album must have been on my brain last night because it was in my dreams.
