Some lowlife company has already made a Cooks Island 1911-2011 coin. It's supposed to be a "replica" of a rare coin from back then but it's a piece of junk. I hate coin commercials.

A Titanium coin would be intersting.
I'm actually quite content with the wildlife series... can't wait for the grizzlies and others!

Wow. Our PM's were pretty well all as ugly as I am. Not that the monarch's are anything to write home about, but they are what they are. Leave the PM's on the paper money where they belong ;) They be ugly buggers.
Actually, one thing I'd like to see are something different with the pennies. There's been a special issue of pretty much everything, but given the sheer scrutiny the penny has received lately as to it's supposed non value, I'd like to see it bolstered with a change up... maybe birds or flowers, something that would show nicely on the copper plate.

I want to see a series of Bill Reid art designs, in copper, silver, and gold against a silver background. Quote: 10th Anniversary of the 90th Anniversary Silver Dollar I LOL'd

That is the one that infuriates me. The Mint could wait 10 years and have a meaningful 100th anniversary instead.
In the meantime, if nothing else of importance happens then lets just do a bit less. Or take care of some old business. Like, rethink new designs for some circulating coins. Getting tired of the Copyrighted Bluenose?

Fewer releases AND less mintage? You realize the problem there, right?

Perhaps a few layoffs. I know, tough decisions.

... wait, NCLT are fun to collect, *not* investment pieces. They're a collectors market, so why would you *want* to decrease new coin releases? I understand less mintage, but really?

Well Rodime, part of me wants more like you say. I guess I prefer more historically relevant coins and more quality over quantity. 90th anniversary is a perfect example. Why not wait 10 years and make it the 100th anniversary coin instead? I don't know, I feel there are just too many and this may be because there was a time when you could * get all of them * without breaking the bank...

Any collectors memorabilia generation outfit (topps, RCM, anything collectible) is banking on the fact that people need "completeness" in their sets. So decreasing mintages is a good idea, but having a variety of pieces out there might further push NCLT from collectibles to giftware. I was really surprised with the 90th anniversary release. Hopefully we get something for the diamond jubilee, though ...
