Value mostly depends on the intricacy of the artwork. If you can get a clear picture (front and back), someone might be able to help.

I would say that is definitely a genuine 30's era Hobo Nickel. Very nice!

I need to learn to refresh before I post! Sorry to hear about your grandpa. If there's anything else you need help on, you've come to the right place. If not, how about kick us a bone to over every once in a while.

Does the hobo really face to the left as shown in the photo? Most hobo nickels are carved using the original Indian portrait as the starting point and that portrait faces to the right. If yours really faces left it would be the first one I've seen like that. Maybe the picture is taken using a mirror

Love to see a better picture, but I believe you have a real Hobo Nickel. Congrats!

The picture is fuzzy, but the work looks good and I would agree it does look like an original Hobo nickel from the 1930's, something I appreciate much more than the more recent lower quality hobo nickels. (I am NOT referring to the work of Bill Zach and the other recent carvers of similar material. I don't consider their work to be hobo nickels. It is a totally different class of art.)
