I had more 'Bad experiences" with him than you could poke a stick at. He has 'other" ebay ID's as well. I would not buy from him if he was selling Silver coins for 1ยข each! He continually blamed Aust Post for all his items taking over 2 months to get from Darwin to Brisbane. Buyer Beware! By the time the items arrived, it was too late to be able to post any type of feedback, so there could literally be hundreds of buyers like me who missed the opportunity to post neg feedback. I read an explanation of why his mail was being held up by A.Post, and it was his doing. Maybe he's changed his practices.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

"no problems buying from wolf-back" 100% correct Wes with this name, a freudian typo methinks.

If I remember correctly the OP went on the ebay boards & asked this same question,i answered suggesting he contact bob_hide,he came back a couple of days later & said bob did'nt bother even answering his inquiry but he had gotten on to woof back & he was helping the OP get what he wants, what happened Tim ? The fact is that these 2 coins you are after would be quite hard to obtain so you may have to be very patience, they will come around eventually no doubt. By the way I've dealt with both sellers quite a few times and never had any problems with either & that includes getting answers to questions within a reasonable time frame.

This post was meant to be a discussion of early proof coins - not about badmouthing a particular seller - I have purchased from woofback before and I was satisfied, although postage took a while (though, I am collecting for the long term, so a few extra postage days makes no difference in 20+ years time).
I currently have a few of his items on my watchlist, I'd buy from him again.
There is a 1cent proof from 1973 listed for $25! I'd buy it if it finished my collection, but alas, still need both. Wish me happy hunting and please stop using this thread for bagging out a guy who must deal with 100s of people / parcels each week.

all about balance Tim.Should we not say anything about poor performing sellers or dubious performers who have high negative and questionable feedback.?Lets not attempt to stiffle debate. Good luck in finding your coins

Quote: all about balance Tim.Should we not say anything about poor performing sellers or dubious performers who have high negative and questionable feedback.?Lets not attempt to stiffle debate. I agree. Is not a matter of bad-mouthing any ebey seller. Its about feedback from members who have used their services. Good or bad. I've had no problems with woof-back. Neither has Appleangle or Tim. Nancy on the other hand has. I know Nancy personally and know that she is not an unreasonable person who complains about nothing. So as always, there are two sides to every coin. People should always consider feebback from other members and make their own decisions.

I have purchased from him in the past and no problems. I stopped when he stopped registering deliveries (as stated in his listings) and started using "Do not safe drop" stickers instead. When I asked for deliveries to be registered or, alternatively, a discount equivalent to the cost of registering I received a rather terse response.

I have purchased from woof back once in the past. I got the coins I purchased however it took 4+ weeks and expensive postage from memory. Not a great experience. I would buy from him again but to would need to be a special purchase!

Hi Blinky Bill, Quote: other excellent sellers put the padding in the package and not the postage You seem familiar with me and my ebay listings but I can't place you. Send me an email with a clue. JeffThanks, Jeff PS. Always look at postage cost and subtract that from your highest offer before bidding.

I have bought many times from Brian (woof-back) via ebay, his web site and over the phone and have always been satisfied in the end - mostly the post is on time, if a little on the expensive side, but the coins are always top quality and he has always resolved any issues to my full satisfaction. when talking him on the phone he has reminded me on several occasions "this is Darwin mate, nothing happens fast here" and given the sheer volume he sells I can forgive some delays. it is all about balance... in the last 12 months - 12 negatives, 17 neutral and a whopping 3,804 positives... I am sad that Nancy and others have not had the same experience I have had. have also purchased from Bob Hide without problems as well. now, back on topic, I have a number of proof 1c and 2c laying around somewhere from '69, '70, I think '73 and maybe '74 - it's been awhile since I have been in that box. Like CoinManTim I keep an eye out for these on ebay and other places and don't see them much. maybe I will dig them out...
