i guess that works with pennies but when dumping a box of nickels that would hurt. 2000 nickels costs $100. dumping a few boxes would be quite costly.

Check for a Credit Union. I don't know if SchoolsFirst FCU has branches down there.... it's based in OC.

The one by me used to. It was OCTFCU back in the day. If I remember correctly, there was a 200 dollar limit per day or else there was a charge. Made a few trips when my roommate was a teacher. It was a self service machine. ....Come to think of it...my girlfriend is a teacher. I don't know why I haven't asked if her CU has a coin counter yet.

David, I know LBS financial has one with a 200 dollar limit as well. Might check to see if there's one around your area.

You could probably dump tons of coins without them caring, as long as you deposit it directly into your account. Then get a debit card for that account to buy what ever. Just a thought.:)

Let me know how it goes murrellington! I just went to the website and they have a branch in Riverside, still a bit of a drive for me, but If I can dump 1 or 2 hundred there a week, then I'll be happy. That's the first time I've seen a Coinmax machine. Looks cheerful . Ryan

anyway, I use chase and SDCCU. I only get a box a week. I know of nowhere that has them.

Rsxtacee: I've been dumping at pacific trust bank for a few months now. nothing has been said. not sure if they even recognize me. I dump once every 2-3 weeks. and I dump about 5 to 6 boxes at a time. they just started charging a fee for non members on the 11th this month so today I got an account. I am getting the debit card soon.
so yeah, when I dump I will just deposit it all. and if I need the money for more boxes I will withdraw at the atm. it's a nice deal they have, i'd go check it out if I were you. they have free checking. you need $100 to open an account, but the next day you can withdraw it. and there are no fees for the checking account.

Yes, OCTFCU is the former name of schoolsfirstfcu.org I don't know if they have coin counting machine on all of their branches. If they do, it's free for customer or 8.5% fee for non member (I think).... the machines are being services by Brink (I think), so unless you "flood" the bag and make the bank teller go swab them or somehow you "cause" the machine to malfunction.... I don't think they will mind. You can check to see how often they service (take out the bag) and plan your dump just after that day to avoid flooding the bag. Here are their branches: * Anaheim Branch * Cerritos Branch * CSUF Branch * Cypress Branch * Downey Branch * El Camino College Campus Branch * Fountain Valley Branch * Garden Grove Branch * Huntington Beach Branch * Irvine Branch * La Habra Branch * Mission Viejo Branch * Moreno Beach Branch * Murrieta Branch * Newport-Mesa Branch * Placentia Branch * Rancho Cucamonga Branch * Rancho Santa Margarita Branch * Redlands Branch * Riverside-University Branch * San Bernardino Branch * San Juan Capistrano Branch * Santa ANA Branch * Torrance Branch * UCI Branch * Victorville Branch * Walnut Branch * West Covina Branch
