ebay a couple of days ago, just came in today. Waiting for ANACS to verify the cert #. Had to do some quick research on em and what a type 2 is as I had no idea. Popped it for $31. About right!

Type 1 has 4 wing feathers clearly to the left of the perch that the eagle is on. That is the far less common. It appears you have type 2. Type 2 has three feathers and the 4th is somewhat on the middle of the end of the perch. Look at earlier proof reverses of the Franklin series. 1955 and prior and 1957 and later and compare. I edited, seems I had it a bit backwards.

lol Goldrush not sure what happened to my post either. I'll take some picts and post them. Only reason I hadn't is that I figured everyone had already seen all these in Proof condition. I might take some of my fav's just to show them. I am really excited about the Buffalo I snagged a little while ago, beautiful coin.

Hey ... I think everyone likes pics......
I started picking up modern comem's before silver took off .. have 40+ of the easy ones. It was nice getting them at $15 to $20 each. The High Jump I think I will be lucky if I can get it for $250.
I would be excited if I could find a good price on a buffalo.
I like the BU ones best .. but will buy the proofs if the price is right

southsav I don't think anyone minds members posting pictures .. Just coinut was talking about Franklin commemorative dollars and other commemorative dollars. Not sure what one he has, young scientist or founding father. Your Ben Franklin half dollar is very cool ... And I did learn something .... I did not know about the type one and two.

Now I'm looking for that type 1, running about 3-4 times as much as the type 2. And not many up for sale.

Now you have done it! You have made me go look at my commemorates. I was fortunate enough to be a regular buyer of the modern proof dollars and I only have the Columbus and the Atlanta set for completion. I really enjoy the early set by it has ten difficult holes to fill. Maybe I could cash in some silver and fill some holes, most commemorates seem to be sleepers over the past few years.

Those are some very sharp looking coins coinut.. That buffalo is one I am going to have to pick up. I don't know why it is so hard for me to stay focused on what to collect. I really like modern commemorative dollars and want to someday have a complete set, but there are many coins I still need. I really would like to get my type set and Lincoln set done this year, but commemorative coins are a real weakness for me. I was hoping to get a Seated dollar this week .. but ended up buying a High Jump and Gymnastic BU today. I just have no control when I see coins I like. Anyways .. thanks for posting the pics .. I think I know where a buffalo is ... I might have to check out ...

Thanks guys. My wife says I am all over the place.I like so many diferent things I kinda bounce around myself. I not only bought a bunch of commemoratives but been trying to finish my Roosie collection but also my Morgan,Peace and Washington sets. When I see a good deal or nice coin it's hard to pass it up.

This weeks new purchases for me, nothing worthy of photographs. 1859 Indian in Fine, 1912-D Liberty nickel in vg, 1962 Franklin in au, and a 1916-D Barber quarter in G. These are hole fillers in my 7070 type set. I should be aquiring 2 more pieces this week. 1 is an 1835 bust half in vf-xf, and the other I have to go and see. These are 2 coins my dad has of my sister who wants to sell them.
