Mine is over $15000 so far, because I'm constantly upgrading. I probably have another $10000 to go.

My set is worth 3,700.00 now. Moderns are either Proof or at least BU. I need the First page of those very expensive coins. I too am trying to get the first years on issue, but some times I have to get the last year coins. It is an on going collection of upgrading. I have been working on this set for 2 years now I have 62 coins in it my oldest coin is a 1833 Dime in AU. Keep at it but it is a challenge.

I haven't added up value of mine in about a year but with the gold page the coins in my album had a grey sheet value of close to $20,000.00 worth of coins in it so far. I am sure it has went up since Gold has close to doubled since then

I'm at around $7700, but I've only filled 12 slots.

I am about $1500 into mine, but I only really have the moderns done and a smattering of everything else. And a lot of those need upgrading.

I have no idea how much I have into mine, and I'd prefer not to think about it....;-)

Well, this pales in comparison...2 holes to go (no gold page), the Coronet Half Cent and Seated Liberty w/Motto dollar on which I will probably spend $300-$500. Current retail = $1800. Actual out of pocket = $1300 due to some great buys and gift coins. The 7070 is a set that is quite impressive to me across the whole spectrum of grades. I started with the exact same set of rules as you, obviously that changed.

I spent around $3500-4000 on mine, completed last year over about 3 year period. Mine is mostly VF/XF or better, with newer coins being AU or BU.

I have a 7070 album that I just started to fill with VF-XF-AU coins but am not going to record the price of the coins going in it. I have, however, have a record of the date / mint, grade, date of purchase and purchase price of each coin going into the two Capital Plastics type set holders I am also filling. They are the #460 A & B holders for the 19th and 20th Century type sets. The latter is the older style without the State Quarters. I spent $2,900.00 in completing the 20th Century holder in MS-63+ https://goccf.com/t/86333 and thus far have spent $4,325.00 on the 19th Century type set which will be also in mint state save for the Classic Head 1/2 cent 1808-14 (XF), Capped Bust half (AU), and Seated Liberty dollar (AU). I still have 13 holes yet to fill and I'll easily spend another $5,000.00 - $6,000.00+ to accomplish that. Ed ANA LM-3175

Quote: I just spent 2k on 3 coins for mine today. :D I got close to that on 1 One Cent coin in my album, some of those classics even in AU condition can be very costly. I paid more for some of them than I paid for the gold coins in the album. The good thing is the price I paid is less than the coins are valued at and the gold coins I purchased first now are worth three times what I paid for them . I think I paid like 500-600 for the double eagles and one of those were in NGC MS-62 and the other was MS-60 condition

Since it has about 4 ounces of gold, the gold bullion cost would be approximately $6,000.00 by itself.

I have 5 slots to go, most older Dollars and Draped Bust Large Cent and will have around $5000 for Fine or better. Although, I have 5 coins which are VG (and of course these would be significantly higher in fine or better).
Good luck with your set.
