yeah, so here is how my morning went friday. While wlaking out to my car before work I notice I have two flat tires. SO the $100 I was planning on spending on shiney silver gets spent on 2 proof black donuts. I still made a trip in afterwards. Picked up 5 rolls of wheats and 6 mercs. the other 94 mercs are gonna have to wait, but on the bright side one of rolls contained a 1909. Made it bitter sweet.

Tell him to hold them for you. I think it's a really good deal. Do you have an idiot neighbor? Two flats at once is quite a weird thing to happen all at once.

Unfortunately yes I have several weird neighbors. But one in particular. I had suspicion, but I am in need of new tires. He always gets Mercuries in, but he gets rid of them so fast. He is very much first come first serve. He might if I ask. He sells all his junk silver just over spot. But like I said he usually has a lot of Au in there which has always surprised me. Good business I guess.

At almost any coin show or coin dealer around me Mercury dimes sell for $3 each. Of course those would be what is known as just well worn, possibly no date, ordinary coins. Therefore 148 in Poor to Good condition would be about $444. Naturally in such bulk quantities the price could go down somewhat. Although in such situations most have been well examined, it is amazing how many dealers don't know of the many small and large Mint Marks aside from the 45 Micro S. Also, many dealers don't know of all the rotated reverses which in Mercury dimes is common yet some with excessive rotations are well worth a few dollars more. And remember that 42D/41 is really difficult to notice.
