I find the date and mint mark images the best evidence. Very nice finds. You may have lived in the area where these were released? (when this die was found, it was felt that there were no hubbed doubled die possible because of the single squeeze die process. This one was the one that started everyone look for them from that point onward)

Added:
I'm glad to see others using the side by side images. They do help to see the differences better than way.

Hi Coop - I recall you posting a comment a while back regarding the MM being the best way to dial in on this DDO. I did a quick Search and found this thread. I was looking to see if there were identified markers for the various die states. With that said, are you aware of anything? I should probably check CONECAs write up just in case.

PS - I did find CONECA to be helpful. The specimen I found is Stage D.

Hi Yvette. Right forum but wrong thread. Post a picture of your coin in a new thread with a title that will attract readers. Welcome to the forums!

Look forward to seeing it E & V. Make sure you start a new post for it though, instead of continuing on from this 2011 post.

Sounds like a new project for me. But V.V might have some different views of different die States.

Nice find! Just started nickels. Between all the 1964s and the 2004s I got after boxes and boxes of nickels looking for 1950 D and 2005 Speared Bison, I got something to search for. Thanks! Excited about nickels again...
