That is not a High 9. The photo is not clear enough to see it is just Machine Doubling on the 9 or the real 9/9. It is a true 9/9 (not a high 9)...I'd post a pic but the coin is getting hard slabbed by Louis  i'll post a picture when the coin comes back  |

Here is another one (I think). A nice upgrade to my small cent collection either way. Has there been any formal recognition/classification of this variety, other than Zoell?  |

Zoell never recognized this one. To answer your question, yes, I published about this variety in the CN Journal a few years ago.

As an RCNA member, you now have access to all the older CN Journal publications online... the one with this specific variety is November 2013 issue. I will when it arrives, I batch my HA shipments to keep shipping costs down. I will probably get them sent in a month or so, if I find something else that I like at the right price. Will upload then.
