I think the seller bid on it himself...There was only one bid...for $777...Don't ya think the first bidder would have bid .01? Who makes a reserve for $777....

How can you buy a '43 copper cent "as is" for $777 without some sort of certification. I would want to see the coin in hand. The pictures are lousy but the cassting/plating must be good. If it smells like .... it is ....

Didn't one just sell for a few million?

I checked in on this one , the buyer has a 25% buy rate with this seller..makes me think it was the seller bidding on his own coin...

You're nuts if you think a 25% buy rate is any indication of shill bidding. Make an accusation like that against me with that silly excuse for evidence and you'll be signing for your mail. There are tons of buyers that only buy from no more than 2 or 3 sellers on ebay. Probably plenty of them right here.

Not certified, very bland description, oh and ebay. All suspect.
Yep, shill bid.

LOL. So the fact ebay even has a box to check when reporting a listing if you suspect shill bidding, you still make a comment like that. Egads. ebay is full unscrupulous sellers and buyers.

The words that say it all... "As Is." No claims to the coin being copper. IF the buyer is real, they have 7 days to check the coin with a magnet and return it. I'm sure it's a plated coin or and it could be a shill bid, but why pay the ebay seller fee? If they did a shill bid, I would guess they thought that one bid would get others to bid.

If it's a real copper '43, this is the worst seller in the history of ebay.

They can always claim that the buyer did not make payment and the ebay fees would be wiped out.

Well I will say this, we have plenty of customers that are well over 25% activity with us, some over 75%. If someone accused our loyal customers of being shills, I'd be pretty darn mad.

Which I can believe. I have many repeat customers as well. Here is another perspective. I do a lot of research on sellers before I buy large amounts. There is a particular buyer in his feedback that has bought A LOT, and left positive feedback each time. On the surface that is great, but when you look at this particular buyer's feedback, this seller has left feedback less than half of the transactions. To me, that is a red flag. I would not get into a bidding war on any lot from this seller. Because quite frankly, I feel like I would only be bidding against myself.

Actually Augbauer, part of the point on this was that if that was a genuine 43 cent, it should have sold for well over $100,000.00 US. Less than $800.00 is what's ridiculus.

Maybe its really. The seller had no idea what it was worth so he threw it up for 477. (if its real amazing deal) Probably fake. Which sucks though he takes returns. So really win/win for the buyer.

Also I dont see the S mint marking
