Coop: yours is a lot more pricey - granted. your images and knowledge that goes along with it are - priceless!

i am muddling along as an enthusiastic hobbyist, and will upgrade when the economy and circumstances allow.

The lighting that comes on the scope is useless, so it went away in about 24 hours. I stripped the lighting and that left me room to add the new lighting. I did recycle one part of the peices I took off. The holder on the diffuser.

Ha... Seriously that is how I started out, like a month or so ago!

My husband finally got me a digital micro... since I spent so much time looking through my microscope and magnifying glasses.

I still need to upgrade eventually to a higher zoom with better resolution. But I am happy to have something I can snap pics with!

I'm making my way...

The other day I was in a thrift store and found a brand new scope that I couldn't pass up. The glass piece that fills the center under the scope was missing. Got a smoking deal on it. Still haven't needed it yet.

I was at an estate sale in Hattiesburg MS and saw a beautiful old scope. Nice wood case and a really NICE price. I regret not snapping a pic though.
