Well you know it isn't an 1800. And the 9 does seam to show a bit of a curve so I too ssy 1890.

It would have to be 1890 because the Carson City mint stopped minting coins in 1894. That rules out 1900. and the second digit looks like the top of an 8 . It can't be 1892 or 1893 either because the second 0 can be seen almost half way down and one would be able to discern a 2 or 3 instead of an 0.

I agree that it has to be 1890. The only other date that I could think of that would look like that one is 1880 but that can be ruled out because the third digit would look like the second digit which it doesn't on this coin.

1890-CC, VAM-7, I think. Not the position of the 1 in the date, and the tilted second C in the mint mark.

As far as a grade goes, do you think this would be an FR02, or only a P01?

I think I saw one on e-bay from a Chinese seller.

Just keeping an open mind

Wow, an 1890-CC that's a lot lower grade than mine!
The "In God We Trust" and "CC" being very clear on the reverse of his Morgan argue his coin is above PR-1 (and the date is obviously 1890)

(this is my "high-end" AG-3 specimen, for comparison)

The last two digits certainly do not look like the second, so I agree with 1890.
