I think I was 8 or 9 when I started collecting. The variety of it all is what hooked me, not a partiular series. Different sizes, denominations, dates, mint marks, metals, series, designs, countries, currencies, etc. To date, I've never completed a set. I still have my hand in everythng.

Ditto, do., ", same/same.

I fell in love with Lady Liberty at a very early age (about 5) when my Grandmother gave me a Morgan and time has never dulled my obsession with her. I think it's a Freud thing.

I am with TSmith on this one. Although I stick to the US coins, I like all different varieties. Shiny uncirculated mercs, used walkers, an old and warn Seated Liberty quarter, etc.

The first set that got me hooked on coins again is Mercury dime. I think I got hooked on it because it was the first set I ever collected beside the State Quarters. Also one of the best designs out there just Love the Mercury dime. But since I have almost finshish the set except the montser one. But is is not the series I am currenty collecting though I have so many lose ends I have to finsh up on a few of my circulated set.

For me, there's no single answer. Probably the reason I've been a coin collector for 50 years is that I would be hooked, then re-hooked, and hooked again.

Some of my recent favorites, which have continued my interest in coin collecting, include American Silver Eagles, Canadian Maple Leafs. Australian Lunar Coins, and JFK Half Dollars. Also, I was really "into" Sacagawea dollars recently and I enjoyed completing the collection.

I hope the new Presidential Series will stimulate my interest just as so many coins have done in the past.

started when I was young w/ wheaties. Still collect them, and just about everything else. Mainly Peace dollars, Walkers, Morgans, and then everything else from Circ, including almost an entire set of JFK's.

I started collecting about a month ago or so. I was very interested in the hobby after viewing a coworkers collection. I am currently working on several collection Modern Commemoratives(about 10 more needed), American Silver Eagle Proof(5 more needed), Ben Franklin 1/2 dollars and China's Silver Panda's. I really enjoy researching the history of the coins. I also have a collection of about 200 World coins.

I started with Mercury dimes and lincoln cents when I was around 12,, My collection has since run the Gammet of types and grades, I still have a deep Love for these two types.

It all started with a Mercury coated Mercury dime,, I still have it and it has long since blackened but the Memory is still bright and shiny !!

I only collect two series - U.S. Half Cents and U.S. Large Cents. I got hooked after I picked up a couple of books on them, and joined EAC. My other collections are Type Sets rather than series.

I started off with wheat cents. Now I only have like four to go. My grandmother gave me her Mercury dime collection, so I have a full set of Roosevelts and only missing three for the Mercury dimes. I buy cheep morgans for under $10 for the silver. For the future I really want a full set of buffalos, Franklins, and large cents.

I already have full sets of JFK's, American Eagles, and a full roll of each State Quarter. Minus the P mind, though...
