I reported it also. Hoping more reports will increase the chances that ebay will pull the listing.

I remember a while ago, a member (I think the one who made these) was showing them off on here. I wonder if it's the same guy? Probably is.

Looking at his feedback page, it would appear he is almost out of these rare coins. People are actually buying them!

I think that this guy is really smart! I think what he is doing is a great Idea. I would change the description and remove all the lies he added. He can't claim to have the "special die" for the special set.

Why would ebay pull the auction? I see absolutely no ebay rule violation and nothing about it violates the HPA either. The "special die" he refers to is a custom-made counterpunch, the host coin is a genuine 2011-D Lincoln Cent. As far as the item itself, I find it incredibly crass and dishonorable to those who lost their lives that day but there is nothing to keep him from selling them. I do believe it is the same person who posted one here a few weeks ago to judge sales potential. I made my feelings known about his lack of ethics in creating such an abomination, I think the sales pitch posting got him locked as well.

I don't think he's violating the law or ebay rules. He clearly states in the description that it is a post-mint design. Deceptive yes, but not illegal. Heck, those $50 Gold Buffalo ads that they show on TV are more deceptive than this.

I saw those on ebay. It's someone trying to profit from 9/11. That's tacky. And 126 people bought those. Thanks for reporting it.

I sent him a colorful e-mail. It's so anti family friendly that it'd make Chris Rock blush.

I think I remember some law... Quote: "Whoever fraudulently alters, defaces, mutilates, impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales, or lightens any of the coins coined at the mints of the United States, or any foreign coins which are by law made current or are in actual use or circulation as money within the United States; or whoever fraudulently possesses, passes, utters, publishes, or sells, or attempts to pass, utter, publish, or sell, or brings into the United States, any such coin, knowing the same to be altered, defaced, mutilated, impaired, diminished, falsified, scaled, or lightened- Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both."

This is his response Quote: Brave Men and women have fought and died for your right to express your misguided opnion. I could explain the good that is being done with the proceeds of this project, but I am sure it is beyond your understanding. It has been said you can remain SILENT and be thought a FOOL or open your mouth and REMOVE ALL DOUBT. Have a Great Day in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. - David

i can't believe someone would so blatantly try to capitalize on 9-11,but there are many hucksters out there trying to take advantage of others.I'm glad to hear that others are just as outraged by these scams as I.Glad to hear this has been reported and hopefully something will be done .
