The 1992 coin I posted is uncirculated but not real shiny. It's not well minted and looks more like a souvenir than a real coin.

Ahhhh, I see the issue. From 1955-1989, coins of this design were 8 g, and 27.8 mm. In 1990-1992, they were downsized to 3.30 g and 18.20 mm.

Yes, Italy minted a great coin for decades then put out a cruddy coin for three years before kicking it out of the door.
