I've been looking at this coin and trying to figure out what I have.

Three features puzzle me. Maybe doubling in the 5's in the date and what looks to me like unusual metal flow toward the rim on the obverse and something layered on top of the right-hand ear of wheat on the reverse..

I've spent some time perusing some educational images from user @coop and just trying to learn about mint errors. I've got a long way to go before I have enough confidence to draw my own conclusions so I'd appreciate some more knowledgeable eyes to tell me if I'm seeing anything worth noting.

Die Deterioration Doubling, a Retained Interior Die Break, and a possible Retained Cud on the reverse.

Obverse is showing the 'classic' poor man's doubled die--the 5s in the date, as noted. Of course, this is a Die Deterioration Doubling issue. Has a cracked skull as well (die crack). Photo of reverse suggests a die crack associated with the right wheat stalk. Gotta love those Philly-minted '55s...

Thanks folks. When I saw the metal flow toward the rim I thought that late stage Die Deterioration might be part of the story. I also noticed that parts of the motto were beginning to merge into the rim.I failed to see the die break on the forehead though. I also noticed there seems to be something on the coin at the top of the head near D. Anyway for me it makes good practice.
