Hi, I have a 1969 $20 Canadian Bill with the serial number on the back. It is from the bank so I know it's real.

On the left side just above the mountains the serial code is red, and on the right side it is blue.

Serial #: EZ1004841

Would anyone have any idea what this is worth?

Generally the 1969 notes have the serial # on the front. Its value will depend a lot on its condition. The placement is wrong if it is not on the front with the Queen.

If the serial # placement is normal, the value would be from $20 (if circulated) to around $145, if it is in pristine uncirculated condition.

If the serial # is truly on the back, then you would have an error note which could be worth quite a bit more than what I mentioned above.

If you could post a picture, it would be helpful.

Don't know how it is in Canada, but here in the US one the more likely places to get a counterfeit is from a bank. Since most banks make the tellers pay for any they have in their drawer, when spotted they're given to the next customer.

Very nice error you have there! When you first posted and said you had a 1969 $20 with a serial number on the back, it threw me thinking you really had a 1979, but when I saw the serial number, I thought...wait a minute!

Definitely puts it in a price range much higher than I posted above!

definitely an error. Checking my ( outdated ) Charlton, I don't see your specifically but anything regarding a serial number ( missing number , number in wrong place etc) can really jack the value up.
nice find

This note does not look to be uncirculated. The corners look rounded.

Great Note!

The 2011 Charlton does list it at $350 for uncirculated. They suggest reducing this to 80% of that value if it is almost uncirculated or 60% of that value for extremely fine.

If your interested in selling the note, you should post it on ebay and then post the link on the forum. I am sure a couple members here (including myself) are interested in the note.
