have this coin and it has a small amount of tarnish on it. I have checked ebay and also found that this particular coin has tarnish on some of them as well.
I am thinking that the tarnish is a result of the plastic foam that the coin is inserted into. I plan on removing it from such and putting it in an inert plastic holder.
Do any of you that also have this coin, found that it is starting to tarnish? Is the tarnish as a result of the packaging or for some other reason?
I am not going to clean it, as long as the tarnish does not get worse, I see no problem with keeping it the condition that I bought it for.
What are your recommendations?

had it before. The tarnish is from the black plastic foam and is a known issue. RCM have since stopped using the foam for its square $4 coins. The tarnish will get a bit worse as times goes by but I see that as a natural process as oppose to a problem. My advice is to keep it in its original case, but to each his/her own. A beautiful coin though, I definitely regret selling it!
