Buying From Dealers - Paying By Spot Or Fv?

went to two shops I've never been to today and was pleasantly surprised.

The first shop, in Oregon City, paid 80% of spot price for an old 1968 mexican silver olympic coin I had, and they also sold 90% US for spot, albeit they only had a small tray with about $25 face in it. Picked up two SLQ and a Merc for less than $14.

The second shop is in Silverton and I discovered it by accident. It's about 15 minutes from my house, but it is not listed as a local shop when I do a google search for "coins Salem Oregon" so I didn't even know they existed. When I did a search for "coins Wilsonville Oregon" and then I noticed them in Silverton. They also only charge spot for 90%. Picked up another merc and a 1920 Walker half for less than $14. Even got a 46 Jefferson in my change! Guy working was nice too, which is opposite of most of the old angry men I have encountered at other shops. He was willing to show me anything I wanted to look at, and he genuinely liked showing off his nicer coins as well. He even let me hold a 1938 Buffalo nickel that was NGC slabbed MS67+ (with a star for the toning!).

All three shops in Salem that I have been to were charging 24XFace for 90%US, even when silver was at about $27 a zip. Those prices are still a little better than ebay, but I definitely found my new favorite shop in Silverton.
