Thanks Biggfredd. I think I want to go with something a little more classy looking. Granted my cabinet it very "souther engineered" I think something more antique looking would work better. Plus I have no USB ports on the cabinet.

Just a suggestion but why not put a layer of ply with holes cut in it on top of the drawer then put the felt on it to stop the coins moving when you open the drawers.
That would put the icing on top of the cake of this awesome idea

That was my original plan, but in all honesty I have no idea what coins will be going in each drawer or which will be slabbed or not. I am still pretty new to collecting right now. I am trying to figure a solution however, the dimes and pennies are all that really slide around. But it is rather annoying. I do think I have a solution, but it will be revealed at a later date.

I just finished installing all of the drawers. As soon as I add drawer pulls to the rest of the cabinet I will take some better photos and post them on here. Thanks for all of the positive feedback on this project.

Just another quick iphone picture showing the top tray with a couple of pieces of glass. I think I will get a small collection of nice looking glass and keep it on this drawer for show and use. Thanks for that idea...

Very nice! I re-purposed an antique writing desk for my stuff. It has a 3 shelf cabinet with glass and wood doors, desk and 3 drawers. If I had your skills I would be able to come up with a better way to organize the top. Here is a pict from last year, I have organized it a little better now :-)

Thanks everyone.

Coinut, I like how you have that display set up. The one thing I don't like about mine is that it is hard for my kids to see unless I get a step stool for them to use. Yours is very visible and nicely laid out I think.

Sweet cabinets. I'd love to have a big piece of furniture like these to organize my collection in. Just being able to access so easily would be a definite plus.

That said, I'd be absolutely paranoid to keep my prized possessions in such a potentially accessible location should my house be broken into.

Gmwatson, I completely understand. Believe me, security is my number 1 concern in my house, and not just because of my coins either. I have a rather extensive security plan and good security system in place for the whole property. That is all I will really say about that other than I would not advise someone do the same as me unless they had a good security system in place.
