OK, so I am not that big on albums, plus I had an old media press with my bedroom set that my flat screen won't fit so I decided to build drawers in it to hold my coin collection. I am short three drawers right now as the local hardware store is out of the drawer slides I need till next week, but here it is so far. I built all of the drawers myself (I also messed up the grain pattern by flipping half the faces upside down) Each drawer will hold 24 mint proof sets in the boxes perfectly (just for size comparison)and are lined with green felt/carpet. I have a small flourescent light at the top that will shine down into the drawers when they are opened and plan on getting another lamp to mount on the top of the cabinet. Two main doors close to hide the drawers completely. It is not a perfect piece of furniture but I am proud of it. The pictures were taken before I realigned the drawers to be more even. Let me know what you think. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures.

Looks like a great retro for an obsolete piece of furniture.

Dude, you're lucky. I've only got this rusty crusty dusty nail holding drawer thingy that my dad gave from the garage. Took me an hour to clean out the dust and dead insects Sorry for the crappy pics: Some melt coins :

Thanks. I either want to mount a light or a big magnifier on one of those big swing arms on the top. Any ideas or suggestions?

10xloup, that looks like it could use about ten minutes with a water hose and a rag.

I would install the drawers from the top down, leaving the space at the very bottom. You can store books flat in that space, or perhaps boxes of coins, etc.

When the hardware store gets more drawer sliders in that space will be filled up with the rest of the drawers I built.

My OCD sees what you did there. A real carpenter can find beauty in his own mistakes I say. It looks very nice. It'll look even better when completed and filled. :D
