Our Australian collector friends have a tremendous amount of beautiful coins to show in this forum. As an American collector of Australia's beautiful coins, I have had the good fortune recently in sweeping up some nice early decimal proof sets (1969-1980) at prices way below market. The 1966 proof set is a tough one, though. Very expensive.

I particularly enjoy buying the proof Masterpieces in Silver sets, and I have picked up several sets at, or slightly above the underlying price of the metal.

I was also fortunate to obtain a more recent set of 28, $5 aluminum-bronze coins for the Sydney Olympic Games for $20 below face value housed in a pristine three-ring binder.

I have a number of 60's threepences with "mashed" denticles- die rotating on strike.?

Just poor strikes. Its pretty common on threepences, I think its due to their size.
