darge Valued Member Australia 236 Posts	Posted 06/09/2012 9:26 pm Hello I'm a complete illiterate when it comes to coins and I'm sorry if what I am asking is extremely basic. I have no idea where to even start to identify these coins I just purchased. Or even why I purchased them. Impetuousness of youth? I wish. I definitely should know better, should have 40 years ago. Any help or suggestions will be very appreciated. There is 4 coins showing both sides and I have managed to get them out of sequence I think. I will take another scan if it's necessary. Thanks darge. When coins are made into a coin bracelet how much of collector value would they lose? For example when Silver wires are soldered or welded to them. (and coins in plates, spoons or rings) I am assuming, with absolutely no right, knowledge or clue, that it destroys all value. If it is possible to confirm this or give a rule of thumb I would be appreciative. Understand if it is a "How long is a piece of string?" type question though. Thanks darge. Numbers 5-8 are probably fakes, the first row may be OK- I would need to see clearer pictures. Report this Post to the Staff

Bills have been made on old presses, following original ink recipes. Coins from all over have been faked- for collectors and tourists. It is a big business, and driven some of us who like China and Chinese numismatics crazy. Things like major museums copying their entire collection and selling the fakes.
