I'm still a newbie here on CCF (i.e. I understand if the link gets killed for another 28 posts), but I wanted to forward a post that my colleague just made for a recent dealing he had on Craigslist. It's really not too fantastic, but is a nice feel good type of story.
I have had two very good experiences on Craig's list. Gave what was offered for the two lots and ended up extremely happy. Both Wheat cent deals. One was "approximately 200 wheat's for $15.00". Paid the man, talked for awhile, came home and counted 643 wheat pennies. The other was 731 wheat's for .03 cents each. Turned out to be all decades and over 200 pre 1930. Some deals are very attractive. Some not so much. Always be aware of you surroundings and who you are dealing with. Looking forward to seeing a 100 lot of 1909 to 1925 this weekend.
I love how people on CL act like they have never even heard of the spot price on silver when they are asking $12 - $15 per oz over spot on ASEs, but they somehow know to raise their prices when silver goes up.
I always find it annoying to see ads on Craigslist for 10x face or 12x face. But then again I just post on top of theirs offering a much higher payout. I like to think people will choose the ad that offers to pay them more...
