Of course it is before 10 A.M. Eastern time so we will see what happens at the morning "smack down" hour. And they claim there is no manipulation of metals prices! Right!

I see a climb today... A lot of large heavily traded companies such as Apple came up short on their quarterly forecast

I think the fact that WSJ reported late yesterday that a couple of more Fed board members are leaning toward QE3 in August,September at the latest,is also providing some support.

More "official" money creation. They've been doing it all along but now the Fed and Ben says more QE coming.

Not being in it for short-term profits, I'm only happy to see PMs move up if it's part of a long-term climb. Obviously, there's no way to tell right now whether this climb will be long-term or not, but recent experience makes me doubt that it will keep climbing for much longer.
Which is to say, I certainly hope PMs go through the roof over the next 20-30 years, but right now I'm hoping the prices will plummet again so I can buy more...

The printing presses are cranking up world wide. Barry, with the world swimming in debt I don't think it will take 20-30 years for gold to go through the roof. The fiat money system will fall apart far sooner.

with IGE. PMs will trump fiat and sooner rather than later. The cars are coming off the tracks in this slow motion train wreck as we speak.

Give us a heads-up when you're buying again so we can buy your dip! (I can't remember if it was bobby or barry.) Right now it's at a comfortable level. Back 1 year ago I was getting nervous when an ounce cost $29, but now it's the norm. Get that physical!

Another good start this morning! It is nice to see more of the rise coming from buying and less from dollar weakening. Seems like the last couple of days the gains were from dollar weakness and those changes can vaporize quickly. I think that as long as central banks keep buying gold(and apparently many of them are)we are seeing a solid floor being built and we may see an incremental climb begin. Let's see what the 10:00 hour brings today.

Yes, the recent bump in PMs is nice to see, especially since the stock market is also in rally mode. But... what I really want to see is the BIDU share price. I bought 500 shares at $108. That was not the bottom but it's not at all bad.

BIDU
I remember I bought those several times a few years back, not as much as you now have Ed, good returns for me back then.
I haven't look back after the sells, but I bought stock pick of the year from my buddy advice and just sold it with a good return also, would made more if I held it longer. LOL!

Yes, it is harder to know when to sell than it is to know when to buy. At least, it is for me. One way to handle that is to use a "trailing stop" that auto sells your shares when the price declines by a set percentage or dollar amount. This allows an investor to buy a stock, hold it as it rises, and then sell it quickly to capture the bulk of the gains if it starts to fall back. This is not a perfect strategy but it is a good one. Stocks that bounce up and down a lot are more difficult to handle with this unless you set your stop price pretty loosely. The thing about BIDU is that it is oscillating in price between about $110 on the low end and $140 on the high end. By buying below $110 and then selling around $135, some good money can be made. I plan to put my profits into some nice low-premium gold coins.

I been using the same method Ed, and it works out fairly decent. I must admit that I wasn't good at it for a while and lost ground, but the past experiences give me better understanding about how I should invest, and am doing the same with my stock profit into PM. Thanks to good friends! I am holding out till next week or two for the ANA show to buy upgrades for my Mercury dimes collection. BUT...I will see whats going with the PM market Next Week! I may buy PM instead.

Glad to hear that this technique is working for you, Mac. It's good to be able to make a few bucks and use them to increase the PM hoard. I especially like buying things in my Roth IRA and getting some very nice TAX FREE gains on them! I have a taxable account that I sometimes take IRA profits from so that I can leave the money in the IRA yet still have some extra spending money. Good luck with your plans next week, Mac.
