Hey! Recently, I was sorting through my change and although I found no silver, I did find a strange looking dime. It seems as thought the rim on the obvere is doubled! Now I have no clue wether or not this is a genuine error or ust PMD, anyway, please help! P.S. The reverse is absolutly normal. Thanks, tzarmarko.

Looks like it was stuck off center or MAD...but not enough to be worth a premium. More people will respond just give them more than 7 minutes :) Happy Hunting

Quote: More people will respond just give them more than 7 minutes I read your post almost as soon as you posted it.Before I could reply my wife called me away.I returned to find the first two replies. So far 36 people have looked in on your post, sometimes it takes 50,60 even 100 visitors before you get a reply.Sometimes you get a reply from the first person looking in on your post. Not lecturing, just trying to help. Your coin was struck by misaligned dies. They were not off enough though so your dime is`worth $.10

It's a slight misaligned die, but not enough to be worth any premium over face value.

Always make your own post for a separate coin. But that is a Dryer Coin

The second dime is what is known as a " Dryer Coin". from being tumbled in a commercial dryer for a long time the edge gets beaten down causing it to spread giving it the very high rims and smooth edge. The diameter eventually reduces and the high rims may get rounded over.

The lead-off 1988-P dime shows a slight horizontal misalignment of the obverse (hammer) die toward the left and a slight fin on the right. Evidently the obverse die was ever so slightly tilted down on the right. This is a common error that carries no premium.
