I seem to see the term "snow" used a lot when referring to various Indian Head cents.

Can someone tell me what that term means or point me to a good reference to learn about it?

Thanks,
Mike

Richard Snow wrote a very successful reference book that is used by most collectors. Different varieties are assigned Snow numbers

Like most issues, IHC varieties are pretty much defined by one person who has made their study his life's work. For this issue, Rick Snow is that man, and that's why IHC varieties carry his name.

I would recommend the PDF version as the spiral bound paperback version is huge and quite the chore to lug around and flip through. Plus, you can do word searches in the PDF. If you get into IHCs, then I highly recommend joining the Fly-in Club. The quarterly issues of Longacre's Ledger are phenomenal reading with full color photos, and the forums are a fantastic resource.
