One of my tellers found a Buffalo nickel in a customer's deposit today. 1936. Don't see those come through too often!

that's nice.

They're pretty rare in circulation indeed. I was finding about 1/10000 through roll searching, but my last box actually had 3 in it and I haven't updated my math. I have actually purposefully put a little more than 100 Buffalo nickels in circulation. All were either low grade commons or Buffalo nickels with poor restored details. I threw a restored 14-d in circulation once, but it was pretty dreadful. I've yet to get one of my own coins back.

I found this one in a roll from the bank, it was 1920. Someone probably dumped it in a machine somewhere.
