To me (I'm still new, so take what I say with a grain of salt) this looks like a 1983P-1DO-006. More info about it can be found here: http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=edsFrom what I can tell, your coin matches up pretty well with the Obverse. As far as the reverse goes, I'd need better (closer up) images of the reverse. I think I can make out a Short NE-SW die scratch under the M of UNUM though which is one of the markers, but I'm not certain. Also, nice find.

Appreciate your input, I want to say 1983P-1DO-001 but still looking, do they all have the clash in the bays like that?

From what I've seen for the 1983P's only 001 & 006 have those markers on the reverse. Other varieties have different markers. Could you possibly take a better picture of Liberty? 001 shows a lot more doubling there than the 006.

The "WE" is not a match for the 1983P-1DO-006, it is closer to the 1983P-1DO-001.

The "WE" matches up in my opinion with the 006, however it's hard to tell because the image quality for the 006 doesn't show the doubling as well as the 001. The main reason I think it has to be an 006 is because "Liberty" does not match/show anywhere close to the doubling that the 001 has, but it could just be because the thread OP's picture was blurry.

That was hard to do but worth it I hope.

I'm definitely going to change my answer and go with 1983P-1DO-001. VERY nice doubling on Liberty, again, congrats on the nice find! May I ask what you did to capture the doubling so well in the picture?

I got the lighting just right, put the coin in a 2x2 and raised it up off the table then I was holding a 60x loop in my left hand with my cell phone in the other. I use paint to reduce the large file by 50% then crop all important imaging to clean it up and then optimize it to get down under 100K. My cell phone takes good pics, its the lighting I struggle with at times.

Does anyone know what stage this is? I want to say EDS. I was about to give up on this box to, I was getting discouraged. can't believe there are nice ones like this out there still. I could see the doubling before putting a loop to it, it is the best DDO I have ever found.

Nice DDO. I've gotta say that I usually go right to the reverse on 83s looking for the DDR. Now I'm gonna look at the obverses also. Again nice find.
