Happy Friday CCF! I am glad the world did not end yet although the day is not quite over so you never know if the meteor is coming

Here are a couple of 1883 Liberty nickels - forgive the shaky IPHONE pics, its the best I can do...

I bought both of them and in hand they are a gorgeous blast white and a gorgeous toned nickel...I am wondering two things that I would love you all to assist me with:

1 - grading opinions
2 - which one should get the honor of gracing the type set
thanks for the time you take to respond

That is a tough one. I prefer the top one because I do not see as many hits on it and I am a sucker for a better defined corn cob on the left (though the upper left on the reverse is a less well struck).

I can't assign a grade with these pictures, but I would say at minimum I think they are high AU, most likely MS. I do think the bottom would get a better technical grade but my preference is still the top one.

I like 'em both!

1. Die crack, reverse on top of STATES

2. Die cracks (?), obverse across the bottom of the date, and stars 6 and 8 & 9.

...decision...#2 Better strike (more defined stars and more die cracks )

Unable to help with a true grade evaluation ... the out of focus photos do not provide the detail necessary.

I can state both are at least AU ...
