I think this is fake but can anyone confirm please.

One side is civitas london with a cross with 3 pellets. The other is a rose with rosa EDG. Any ideas please , Its about 18mm wide.

This is a modern reproduction, but the two sides don't belong together. The rose side ("Elizabeth, by the grace of God, the rose without a thorn") is paired with the reverse of an older coin? And it looks like the letter K has been stamped into the reverse (I'm guessing to stand for the German word for COPY).

Found this pic from a metal detecting forum, of a reproduction coin identical to yours. Also with a CIVITAS LONDON reverse, but a somewhat different one:

Actually, it and yours read I DG , for IACOBUS DEI GRATIA, so was meant to be a coin of James I.
Here's the whole thread started by the poor guy who found this in the ground:

Some on this page:

So, do you think this was meant to be a copy of an Edward VI halfpenny?

No - I was just looking at an old thread https://goccf.com/t/79477 and it seem to mention the above but I cannot find any similar coins in Spink but now you have clarified its IDG not EDG it doesn't matter - thanks
