Hello. Could you tell me what is this "strange" surface above the sun and above the motto? This is normal wear or maybe some damage? This coin is my new purchase and I am worried about those little spots. Would you grade this coin for me? I hope it is AU. It is possible even that's a MS coin? I paid for this coin 82$ and I am little afraid that may be too much. Thanks for help.

My opinion its an AU-50. The light marks you refer to do not seem distracting to me, it looks like some spotted toning where maybe a moist finger came into contact in those two areas.
I think $82 was well spent. just my opinion but other's will come along that know more than me.
nice coin!

your coin looks similar to this...notice the same areas of toning (looks like a fingerprint and then toned in that area.)

I agree, easy AU detail. The surfaces look OK, with no particular suspicious areas that stand out. There is the possibility of an old cleaning but if so it was pretty benign. $82 seems like a very good price for this attractive, early-date Walker. I'd be pleased with it!

the gouges across the gown and sun ray nets a details coin IMO
$82 for those details seems appropriate when you see what slabbed AU50 coins are selling for at auction

Sorry for refreshing, but I found today interesting auction with 1920 HD, which was sold for 580$. I wonder why it was so expensive? I guess I missed some important detail, so that's why I ask you for help. I put photo comparison with my coin, I think that the details do not differ significantly, and certainly my half dollar is not worth even $ 200. In addition, I think that those dark spots and abrasion under the motto should lower the price. Explain me please, what I missed, because, unfortunately, I still get lost in valuing coins:) Thanks!:)

The only thing I can think is, somebody (probably two people, starting a bidding war) seriously overgraded that coin. Furthermore, I do not like the surfaces at all, especially around IGWT.
