Valentines Day 2008

My regular pick up bank called on Wednesday and said they didn't have to order any coin for the second shipment of the week so my 6 boxes of halves would not be coming in. On Thursday I went to my new bank across the street and picked up my 2 weekly boxes. One was an S & S box which I haven't seen those in at least 3 or 4 months in the area. When I got back to work I looked at the date stamp and it was Feb 14, 2008 Most of the boxes around here since Christmas have been the same coin getting back to me 3 weeks later.

I opened the box, no enders. I opened a few rolls and was hit with a bunch of red paint marked coins.

Great, a 5 years old CRH dump. Well a few rolls later there was a silver, and then another, and then another. I also found my first car wash token. I have found plenty of other debris in rolls but no car wash token. Several of the rolls were light anywhere from 1-3 coins and a few were heavy 1-3 coins so I think the box was still pretty close to $500 worth of coins.

And of course of all weeks for the bank not to order my coins it had to be the only good week since Christmas. I can just see the other 15 boxes from 2008 that were on the bottom of the pallet in the corner of the Loomis warehouse are now somewhere 50 miles away instead of at Chase waiting for me.
