There was another line pressed through the date as well. I missed that photo.

I can't believe I wasted a flip for this. Whoever the madman is that keeps sanding the backs off of pennies and putting them in vices, please stop. Dave, you answered that one pretty fast. Pillar of the community or Public Enemy....Hmmmm?

Thanks Dave ;)

Probably two pieces of wood and a couple of coins and a hammer is what met together on this one. If it were in a vise, then more details would have transferred. I'm not seeing that on this coin.

PMD - a good 30 years of circulation lots of things could have happened. Maybe it got stuck in an old gum machine, lol.

Thanks guys. I am not going to post anymore coins until I become more educated on them. Unless you guys want to have an ugly penny contest?

Clinton, don't become discouraged. Discovering the bad news is part of the learning process. The important thing is to understand with each of your post why it is PMD so you will know next time.

I'm not going to get discouraged. I have put a few things on here that I should have been able to discover on my own. It is easier to let someone else answer but I will never learn that way. You guys are really good at spotting this stuff and the fact that I posted it says something. I need to stop looking at coins and start looking at books.

Thanks for the encouragement!
