Thanks This quarter looks to have a piece of something peeled off of the top clad layer possibly. This coin weighs a total is 5.3 grams. Would this be a sintched or burnt planchet? Filled die? Buddy Rest in Peace United States 7075 Posts	Posted 11/09/2013 10:20 pm Hello and The Florida quarter looks like something acidic may have splashed on it. The second quarter -- can't quite read the year -- looks like it spent quite a bit of time in the dirt. The Conneticut quarter looks like it spent lees time in the dirt. A sintered planchet would not have the lighter/brigher areas. It would all be the same color. The nickel looks normal to me. What are you seeing? Did you mean ' Grease Filled Die'? I have a parking lot nickel (all scraped and scratched) that puzzled me until I learned what had most likely happened to it. Anyway, I keep it because it is the only one I ever found like that.
