Hammered picked up before the weather came crashing in not 100% sure as to ID at moment possible castle MM and is 0.55g so could be 3rd issue 1561-1577.. what do you think

Cool! But I think you're mistaking the E for a mint mark. (I think the legend reads E. DG. ROSA SINE SPINA). Looks more like a martlet (the heraldic name for a swallow or martin) to me.

Compare it with this from a dealer's site:

S 2558 2nd issue 1560-61?

Fine for me with the reverse a little better. However the fact that it's centrally struck and on a reasonable size flan with a fair amount of legend visible is a bonus. They so often aren't. Nice find!

So a martin is a bird, and a marten is a small furry thing featured on Croatian currency... and both animals have coins named after them! Confusing.
