Jpl, you must be looking over my shoulder! I've had that exact error on my photo taking setup for the past day trying to get a decent picture of it.

Your pics are excellent.

With my terrible eyes, mine looked like a very small rabbit ears Cud, but it still didn't seem right. Now I know that's what it is, it's a die crack! Hollow little ears.
Thanks Jpl.

I think it was originally a Rabbit, but the Cud came away leaving just the outline. 2000 Dollar coins are known for their Rabbit Ear Cuds. I have some stashed somewhere, but yours is the first I've seen where the Cud has not stayed put.

How does a Cud Fall off?
I would have thought that the extra metal( Cud) is Solidly Fused to the coin. Thank's

What I meant was that the Cud would have been stuck to the die, not the coin.

I have some different examples of this with the 1999 10c 'Fat' rev Cud where just the outline of the bottom of the Cud is visible. A couple images of it can be found here in one of my old posts, about halfway down the page: https://goccf.com/t/110105

Thank You Nancyc
jpl..

PS. I have 4 1999 Fat Cud's, will have to look out for the "Broken Cud" Version.

I allway's thought the Cud's were actually solid to the Coin?
