I used to like uncirculated '64 Kennedys and Washington quarters a lot, now they are just "OK" to me. Now I don't want anything less than Walking Liberty halves VF+, or Franklins AU +, or 1948-49, or Mercury dimes VF+ Or any Barber Coin G+. Sometimes a few Peace or 1921 Morgan dollar Being so particular, I sometimes buy very little from a large bin to choose from.
I like those low premium coins when silver was high ... since it dropped below 30 I've sold everything and have no intention of buying them, even if silver goes to $30 again
Honestly, I went from proof and bu silver to now loving circulated crusty looking silver! Just the thought that the coin could have been used to buy something is neat to me.
I am a prospector of metal first and foremost. I gather the heavily worn, dirty and the bent. But the price that I purchase must reflect the condition being sold. To me, silver is silver.
When silver approaches $50, that's when it makes a difference. Twice in my lifetime, during silver's ups and downs, have I seen dealers weigh 90% US coinage before buying. That's why I buy as crisp as I can get.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72
I've also steered away from "junky" coins in my collection. They don't look good and there are others I'd rather have today. I started off with 64 Kennedys and now I wouldn't want another one.
