I'm so lost it's not even funny..... Lol, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I've gone through thousands and thousands of photos on all the places you both listed and I'm literally 0% closer to finding out a thing about it... uugh... My eyes hurt

OK don't panic!

First we need bigger and better photos. You can use the image optimiser to load your pics, try and get them the right way up, it helps.

I found these pearled and diademed emperors the hardest to identify, they all look very similar when you are first starting out. Also, if you can figure out the mint mark it can cut down on the searching.

ok, in the link I gave go to "victory advancing left" spreadsheet (that's the reverse type, the angel moving left), open up the excel file and match up the legend and other attributes. you can also open up bens link, then click "one victory" then click "secvritas riebvblicae" (the reverse legend), it will give you options based on obverse legend, that should nail it for you.

The coin shows Victory advancing left. The legend for that is SECVRITAS REIPVBLICAE - you'll soon recognise the reverse types.

The reverse is harder - better picture would be needed for me to give an opinion. Its Valens or Valentinian I - the way to tell here is the legnth of the legend (Valens used DN VALENS PF AVG, Valentinian went with DN VALENTINIANVS PF AVG). You might be abl to make out a T on your coin, or tel l how long the legend is.

Thanks guys, that definitely helped a lot. I believe, well I'm pretty possitive it's the ARL victory advancing left reverse. And I "think" I see a "T" and the slight difference in the ear making it a Valentinian I.... But I'm not sure on that, I keep going back and forth on it, I can't positively figure it out. I'll try to get some better pics so you guys can tell me yea or nay, but honestly I'm not sure how much better I'll be able to get...

Lol, thanks! I'll keep barking away.

So do you think I have the reverse down? From what I understand with a Valens or Valentinian I it can only be a ARL or AQ reverse, and due to the shape of the dress/skirt as well as what victory is holding and the angle of it I'm about as sure as I can be that it's the ARL...

And again, the obverse kind of has me stumped... I'm going to try to get some free time this evening to really check it out better and try to figure it out.... It's got my head spinning, lol... In a good way though.

I may just have been bit by the "ancient bug", lol.. They won't replace my love for Morgans, but I'm definitely getting more and more interested, lol. In my last few trips to the LCS there's some ancient silvers that I keep drifting over to look at. And they're in pretty high grades, well, as I know nada about grading I say "high"... But the details and strikes are phenominal, so I call them high, lol. But the prices are all over $200... Some higher... And there's sooooo many different ones out there, and minor variations between similar ones that I have no idea what a fair price is.. Nor exactly what each coin is... I should write down the info and ask here because I see some ancient silvers going for much less on ebay.. As well as much more... But there's a couple that have definitely caught my eye .

I started cleaning another one and I can tell that the reverse is a soldier spearing a falling horseman, but then I got interrupted by my daughter so I have to clean more later on trying to identify exactly which one. But I think I have it narrowed it down to a couple already... Where he's holding the spear it makes a distinct "4" with his arm and the spear and he's standing upright opposed to jumping/leaning, so that helped to narrow it...
And the obverse figure has the two ribbons (or whatever their called, lol) so I think it's a CONSTANTIVS II or CONSTANS

glad you're enjoying your coins!

by "ARL", I think is referring to the mint (arles). look at the reverse of you coin below victory, there should be some letters, that's your mint mark. if you open up the spread sheet on the link I gave you , and check valentinian i, you can probably match up the mint mark and or get prett close to it. I can't tell on the pics what it is, but I bet you can at least see some of the letters in hand.
