Quite a few tokens, jetons and medals feature grisly activities that we would never see today(?) Here's a copper jeton struck in Dordrecht in 1579 to mark the rejection of a peace treaty and the beheading of Count Egmont and Count Hoorne by the Spanish. Have you got anything like it? I have never seen that one before, pretty grisly, but has quite a bit cool factor to it!

Also looks to be triple struck, look at the rim and overall devices. Some areas are stronger than others.

These pieces were presumably made on either a rocker or roller press; multiple "strikes" on such things are common as a large bronze coin needs several squeezes to bring the design up fully.

Hmmm ... This jeton is indeed a double-header!

Anyone have an "End of Pain" Conder token to post? The one that envisions Thomas Paine hanging from the gallows?

That's just creapy. Not something I'd ever want in my collection.

Very nice, the details great. Also it's funny to think about how sinister our ancestors were, I guess those were the newspapers of today lol.
