I will have a new barbarous imitaion coin, still have the most of the silvering. What do you think about it? The seller said, this is a goth imitation.

No way to tell who its from exactly, but it is a contemporary imitation, no doubt about it.

This barb was made much better than most I've seen. I can't say if it's a contemporary one or a most recent fake.

I have some problems with this. Firstly, its silvered, which I've never seen before. Secondly, the silvering is patchy in an odd way. Third, they've rendered the bust, the text and the wreath expertly (especially the wreath) but completely missed the VOT legend, which seems odd to me. That just doesn't add up - spend time and effort getting everything good and then screw up the central motif? I'm not so sure. Ill take a look at the fake reports - if it is, then its incredibly well done.

I believe this is a contemporary one! Interesting arguments Ben! I thinking about, and the original was also silvered, so if I want to use it (that time), I need to cover with silver also. I have coins what I cleaned, and the silvering is very similar. (My experience, if the coin was silvered - enough a small layer - remained in better condition.) They rendered the wreath expertly yes, but the text not perfect! If this is contemporary, the maker can't read! (I have medieval comtemporary fakes, when the coat-of-arms is perfect but the text is unreadable.) My only doubt is the condition. I will be glad if anybody find the answer, this coin is real barbaric or a fake! I hope, next week I will have the coin, than I will make better photos!

Both the obverse and reverse legends are not correct, so it wouldn't be any shock they goofed on the VOT.
Constantine's name is rendered, as I see it, CONSTA - TNNVS.
I'm not sure at all about the reverse legend, but it sure looks to have a lot of Ns and Hs in it.
The bust and wreath are very nicely rendered.
It looks like a very nicely done imitative to me. I have several in my collection where I'm still not sure if they are imitatives or mint errors they look so nice.

Did you find or buy this piece? If you bought it, where did it come from? The more I look at this piece the more I feel it's a recent fakes from Eastern Europe.

I took a look at this sellers coins, while there are a few that appear to be OK. Most IMO look fake.

Lets put it this way, one or two of the late Roman coins looked OK. The medieval coins I don't know a lot about but from what I saw I have doubts that many if any of them are real.

Understand! :) Medieval coins of this seller is looked OK! After I paid, I asked the seller, and He said 100 % this coin is contemporary! :) But of course if it is a fake and He knows that, maybe He won't tell the truth!
I tried to catch this coin on fake reports, but I not found it. This is a very characteristic coin, I think if it is a fake, similar item must turn up soon!
The price was around 28 $ so it wasn't that expensive!
I hope when I will have the coin in my hand, we can decide! :)

The upper is from http://www.numismall.com "Rare barbarous VOT XX follis imitation of Constantine I (307-337 AD)" Not exactly the same, but very similar! What do you think?

I've done business with Alex in the past and trust what he has to sell. The coins do look similar but I still am not comfortable to say that yours is a legit. I've been wrong many times in the past so don't take my word for it, lets see what others have to say.

The two coins are similar, but not from the same die. Notice the position of the ribbon on Constantine's neck. The T in "V T" also is different on the two coins.
Are the leters S in Constantine's name backwards on your coin as they are on the other example?
I think both are nice imitatives.
