Was today at a general auction which had a few coin lots in it and picked up two lots, here one with Roman coins:

Guess-The-Price

Guess-The-Price

The coins were without any attribution in the sleeves of a sheet, safeguarded with a strip of tesa.

What did I pay (including buyers premium)?

Also, anyone have an idea re the little silver coin on the top?

The other lot was (shame on me ) an NCLT 50 Cent 2012 Tuvala (1/2 oz silver, coloured coin with Koalas, from Perth Mint) - just wanted to get one (!) of those coloured coins.

Not going to show a picture of that one, but you are welcome to guess what I paid for that as well.

45 bucks...I'm bad at these things.

I really want to know what that little silver coins is however!

Looks like these were all cleaned by electrolysis, that's too bad there are some nice coins there. No more that $35.

Doubt it, yes all cleaned (and not the best way) but only the Gallienus has seen very harsh treatment - my guess: some sort of acid.

I like the fact that you used a white background, gave me an idea to use next time I take pictures of my coins...

and I am going to guess at least $150.00 including the little silver coin?

Actually, it's just a simple scan on a cheap multi-function printer - at 100 dpi to keep the image below 100k.

Btw, welcome to this corner of CCF - maybe you get (or are already) interested in coins discussed here.

Note: Waiting for some others to make a guess/estimate, will disclose it not later than at the end of the weekend.

I love the diversity of type and denomination in this lot. I think anything in the $60 range would be a steal for this lot.

In the meantime I have been able to fully attribute 9 of the coins and yes, it is as 'Biancasdad' said quite a diversity.

The three coins with some doubt are:

Guess-The-Price Guess-The-Price

Quite sure that it is Elagabalus with Libertas reverse, RIC#107.

Anyone want to comment on that one?

Guess-The-Price Guess-The-Price

My best assumption is that it is close to Julia Maesa with Pudicitia reverse, RIC#15b,A (or at least close to it in RIC)

Here too, any comment welcome.

Guess-The-Price Guess-The-Price

No clue on this one so far.

Waiting for our United Kingdom members to chime in.

Anyone has a comment on the three coins in the last post?

Solved one more for good, after a bit of brushing up and staring at it through a loupe:

Guess-The-Price

Unusual legend break, Wildwinds has the As RIC#703 with that legend break and the right reverse (Venus Felix), unfortunately the Sestertii have all a different legend break, so have to go into RIC.
