mairuzu3030 New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 01/13/2015 10:11 am Hi all, I'm new to coin collecting and this forum. Well I used to collect as a kid and pulled out my old collection. I found this old Standing Liberty quarter and googled as much as I could about it. The quality is poor but I noticed it does not have the stars under the eagle. I was wondering if there is a way to tell if it is 1916 or 1917 with out having the date on it? Any help would be awesome, thanks! CoinCollector2012 Pillar of the Community United States 8137 Posts	Posted 01/13/2015 10:35 am to the forum! The stars below the eagle show that this coin is a type 2. They were first made in 1917 so yours can't be the rare 1916. As for what date it could be, I don't think there is any way to tell. Type 2s were made from 1917 to 1924, so it would have been made somewhere within that date range. Report this Post to the Staff
